Nulka

As electronic warfare specialists, SYPAQ has played an integral role in the sustainment and through-life support of the Nulka program.

SYPAQ is currently providing integrated support to the Nulka missile decoy upgrade program under SEA1397 Phase 5. This includes support planning such as development of the Integrated Master Schedule and Integrated Contractor Delivery Plan, transition and closure of SEA1397-5A through support to the Sustainment Readiness Review), and through-life support to SEA-1397-5B Nulka Fire Control System – Mission Software Update.

This also includes the introduction into service of the Nulka Advanced Decoy Architecture Project (ADAP) capability including planning, project administration and engineering services. As part of this integrated support contract, SYPAQ has defined requirements for the Nulka Round Assembly and Maintenance facility to be built at Orchard Hills, as well as provided program updates to Australian and US Nulka Systems stakeholders and developed and released a new contract for In-Service Support.

SYPAQ is also currently supporting a complex mid-life upgrade to a number of older Nulka missile decoy payloads under SEA1397 Phase 5 through the introduction of the Nulka ADAP capability. This also involves providing engineering oversight and support to the Countermeasure Development (CMD) Verification and Validation (V&V) program led by the Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG).

We have drafted complex Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) supporting introduction of ADAP variant into RAN Nulka baseline that allows the introduction of the ADAP for land-based flight trials and subsequent in-service deployment. In addition, SYPAQ has developed the capability maintenance strategy, updated the Certification baseline, conducted a Safety Delta Assessment, updated end-user documentation and managed technical stakeholder activities (Industry, US Government, RAN, DSTG, CASG).
