SYPAQ Systems is pleased to be selected as a part of the Australian Army’s DEF129 Uncrewed Aerial System (UAS) Program. This will establish SYPAQ as a trusted sovereign Defence Force partner for small UAS (SUAS) Capability development. Commencing in mid-2024, this four year+ program in partnership with the Australian Army will enable SYPAQ to deliver a fleet of Corvo X small UAS along with a multi-year Sustainment program delivering spares and support capabilities.
“This is the culmination of a journey we have embarked on with the Commonwealth in establishing true sovereign design, manufacture and support for military-grade SUAS in Australia” stated SYPAQ CEO Amanda Holt. “It’s a truly remarkable achievement to work with CASG and the Commonwealth to redefine the way Australia’s defence industry delivers and maintains SUAS capability for Australian Defence Force users.”
“As a veteran-owned company, SYPAQ’s ability to contribute to the safety and effectiveness of Australian soldiers is gratifying for everyone involved” said SYPAQ Founder and Chairman George Vicino. “The Corvo X is a product of SYPAQ’s long history of innovation, which has delivered successful exports such as the Corvo Precision Payload Delivery System, or cardboard drone.”
At over 90% Australian content, the Corvo X SUAS is a true Australian success story having been developed in Australia, in collaboration with the Australian Defence Force over a number of years. SYPAQ will complete design and manufacture of the Corvo X SUAS for DEF129 in Melbourne (Victoria). The project will generate over 18 new local industry jobs and builds on the export success of SYPAQ’s additional UAS products, including the Corvo Precision Payload Delivery System (PPDS).
